Grandview II
Partnering with Global Innovators
Utah Roots
Three miles from Hill Air Force Base in Layton, Utah is our Layton Grandview project for an aerospace contractor. In outgrowing its current office building, our client sought to expand its headquarters with a new facility that will accommodate its specific needs and accentuate the aerospace identity of both the company and the local industry.
With ties to Utah throughout much of our team, Cobalt is excited to participate as the primary equity partner and general contractor on this build-to-suit opportunity.
Space for creativity
The nature of aerospace engineering work warrants an environment that is conducive to individual focus, creativity, and solitude. Our client prefers individual offices- unique from the open, communal workspace that has become common in recent office design. In developing this facility for their needs, Cobalt was able to design a floor plan that delivered 120, naturally-lit private offices, many more than would be available in most modern office buildings, along with architecturally beautiful common areas to foster collaboration and camaraderie in the workplace.
Curated collaboration
As a leader in the aerospace engineering field, this contractor regularly hosts conferences and technology interchange meetings. Cobalt worked closely with their team to design a generous, functional event space to support a wide variety of meetings, including virtual and in person amenities.
Eyes to the skies
Many engineering innovations pass directly overhead on the aircraft that come and go from Hill Air Force Base, which sits adjacent to the headquarters property. Cobalt highlighted this unique experience in the building’s design, which includes two viewing decks to allow occupants to see the nearby airfield and runways.
Slated for completion in 2025, this new facility showcases an extraordinary space built to suit and celebrate their team, work, and position as a leader in the aerospace engineering industry.
